Goal Statement

My career trajectory is a strategic blend of education, public service, and entrepreneurship, each with clear, actionable goals. In the short term, I aim to graduate with a Bachelor of Physical Education and Coaching by fall 2024, a crucial step toward my aspirations in teaching and firefighting. This goal requires completing 100 hours of relevant volunteer work, obtaining all necessary NCCP, Emergency, and CPR certifications, and thoroughly understanding the requirements for UBC's post-graduate education program.

Following my bachelor’s degree, I will research and apply to firefighter training programs, ensuring my physical fitness aligns with the demanding requirements of the role through dedicated personal training.

In the medium term, I will navigate two potential pathways: one leading to admission into UBC's 16-month BEd program, allowing me to obtain a teaching certificate from the British Columbia Ministry of Education, and the other focusing on firefighting, which involves completing a rigorous 16- to 18-week training program and successfully passing the NFPA 1001 certification exams.

Looking further ahead, my long-term ambitions (five-plus-year view) center on leadership and ongoing professional development. In education, I envision a stable high school teaching position while pursuing a master's degree, eventually transitioning to college instruction and potential administrative roles. Concurrently, I aim to refine my firefighting skills, specialize in specific roles, and advance through the ranks, possibly exploring administrative duties or specialized branches like forest firefighting or fire investigation.

Parallel to these professional ambitions is my entrepreneurial goal of establishing a coring business. This venture will draw on skills and insights gained through mentorship and will require substantial initial capital, which I plan to accumulate through diligent savings from my primary career.

This roadmap is not static; it represents a living strategy that emphasizes meticulous planning and adaptability, ready to pivot as circumstances evolve.
